I’m not there

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud and it’s fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: “Is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, “Hey, don’t worry, don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.” And we kill those people.”

  1. Don’t worry. It is a nice ride overall.

    🙂
    And a nice portrait.
    re-:)

  2. I’m in the right place.. it’s Bill 🙂
To me this quote pretty much sums up the danger of truth and true knowledge. Not in a negative way, but in that most of us don’t know how to handle it. What if this thing we call self is but a construct of our mind lost and wandering?
To overcome this I like the suggestion given in the movie Waking Life: The ride does not require an explanation, just occupants.
The rollercoaster ride is here, it’s up to us to decide whether we believe in it or not 😉

  3. Thanks so much for stopping by and liking my post yesterday, Julia. I do hope you’ll come by again. Your own work with light is strong, and very interesting! I look forward to exploring more of it.

  4. Nice photo. I think life could be looked in the way that the mind wants to interpret it. If the mind is running, the ride could be like on a roller coaster; if the mind is purposely disengaged, one could be just feeling lonely watching the fleet train of life dashing away. But I’m not sure yet how it feel when the mind is absent.
